Welcome! I'm excited to start another year as your school counselor. As the school counselor, all students have access to visit me if they need extra support. My main goal is to interact with all students and teach skills that set students up for a successful future. Occasionally students have barriers to learning that may require the need of the school counselor. Examples of barriers may be anxiety, grief, coping skills, peer conflict, bullying, changing families, behavior issues, social skills, and other things that may arise. Please let me know how I can help your child or family! Here are a few ways I may interact with your child throughout the school year.
Groups Each year I work with several groups to provide extra support to students. Groups are designed based on the needs of each grade level. It is a great way for students to make friends and improve skills. Group topics may include but are not limited to: social skills, school success skills and organization, changing families, self-esteem, friendship, and many more.
Individual Visits Sometimes students may need a safe place to discuss a topic, such as friendship issues, worries, family relationships, pier conflict, homework issues, etc. Students are able to request to see me and a time will be set up that works best with their classroom teacher.
